The Palm Island resort is a totally protected island refuge with pristine beaches and amazing wildlife.  Take the car ferry across to the island and leave your worries behind. Only residents and guests have access to the island.

  Our upscale lodgings feature gulf-front  cottages with fully equipped kitchens. Cost for 7 days is only $1695 in April and $1799 in Novvember, 2011 including tuition and shared occupancy accommodations. A limited number of single rooms are available for an extra cost. Price includes lunch and dinner.  Space is limited to 35 people.

 Fabulous Food

Your retreat price includes lunch and dinner.  We will feature a natural foods menu with salads, fresh vegetables, chicken and fish.  A vegetarian option will be available.
     The cottages include fully equipped kitchens so you will be able to prepare your own breakfast and snacks.  This will also help those of you who have special dietary needs. Your registration package will include information about food shopping on the mainland. Included in the food arrangements will be a special Sunday brunch and an optional evening dinner via watertaxi ($2 extra) to Leverock’s Seafood Restaurant.

               Transportation

The nearest airport is Sarasota/Bradenton about 45 minutes from the car ferry and
Ft. Myers about 1 hour from the ferry.
Tampa airport is about 1 1/2 hours away.
You will have the option of taking a shuttle
to the resort or renting a car at the airport. Shuttle info will be given to you when you register.
   You will be on the car ferry list so that you can get over to the island without paying.   Once you have landed on the island you will park your car in the resort lot and will be assisted getting to your cottage in golf carts driven by resort staff.  It is a short walk from the cottages to our meeting room and dining room.  Discounts will be available to our participants on daily and weekly rentals of bicycles, golf carts, and kayaks.
   The resort cottages are raised up above
the beach and are not accessible to people in wheelchairs or people who have difficulty climbing stairs. Please check with us before registering if you think this might be a problem for you.

 Nature and Wildlife

     The resort beach is over two miles long and is great for walking an shelling. The island is home to all kinds of marine animals and wildlife.  You are likely to see manatees, dolphins, gopher tortoises, herons, cranes and an assortment of shorebirds. A naturalist is on staff on the resort and we will schedule time with him for people who are interested.  If enough people are interested, it is also possible to arrange a 90 minute nature cruise for $12 per person.
